Structural Context of Governmental Prayer Network in Louisiana

Name of Organization - Intercessors for Louisiana (IFL) - Founded in 1999 to pray for the needs of our state government.

Mission Statement – Establishing a network of informed intercessors that are called by God to pray for government so that His purposes will be accomplished in Louisiana. (1 Tim 2:1-4)

Purpose - The purpose of Intercessors for Louisiana is to intercede for government so that our actions and the actions of our elected authorities would be in accordance with the Scripture.

 Operating Structure

Working Board

  • Directors –Lead the network and facilitate IFL monthly prayer gatherings held in a Legislative Committee Room in the State Capitol. Produce newsletters sent across the state every month and oversee the operation of the network.
  • Prayer Coordinator – Facilitates IFL weekly prayer gatherings in the State Capitol Prayer Room where state employees and other intercessors meet at noon on the same day every week.
  • Data - Base Coordinator –Maintains and updates the mail and E-mail listing of all intercessors and others who receive IFL newsletters. Responsible for mailing newsletters.
  • Regional and Parish Coordinators – Prayer leaders in various regions that facilitate prayer gatherings once a month in their respective areas of the state. Louisiana is divided into 9 regions. These regions coincide with major cities around our state which also positions them strategically on a more local level.
